Vetruvian
Vetruvian
Large acrylic painting on canvas, measuring 60 x 60 inches
Vetruvian, an archetypal representation of the High Renaissance.
"On drawings everything fits" but the man with those proportions might never be found. What matters is the archetypal image that everyone knows - already a consumer good of our society. Rousselet portrayed the figure with dots, squares, circles and free lines, all part of our mental and organizational tools for proportion.
Close look
Its not anymore an ink draw on a rustic yellowish old paper but inserted in our western contemporary society.
The Miami exhibition
Part of the series "rethinking the epics" Vetruvian was exhibited at Etra Fine Art gallery in Miami Design District.
Detail
Playing with diagonal, circles and large brushes Rousselet colored the image like kids coloring books.
